I was gonna put onto my triton a while back and the guy at Autoquip (who were installers for them) said they no longer do ironman because of all the issues they had.I did not ask further as to what issues.

Not making a comment on whether it is good or bad, but the sales guy needs his derriere kicked. It was a business transaction where one company divested from another. It had nothing to do with the kits performance.

Thats what i thought as i never really heard bad things from ironman hence my interest in it.The salesmen however made it sound like ironman was giving them problems(the product)

Nothing wrong with IronMan in my opinion. Had it on my Hilux for 90,00km without issue.

If its for a Jeep I would steer clear, better suited for double cabs / bakkies.

Hi All,

Got it on my '96 Pajero. Just a bit soft at the back for towing caravan or off-road trailer, solved with air bags. Other than that no problems after 5 years.

Regards

I had Iron man on the front of my Datsun. Didnt last even a year. I recon they are fine for going to see the flowers
Maybe i got a lemon, wasn't going to take another chance.
Yet we have also heard some good stories about them.
Got Gabriel HD now.

Nope I agree with Ian, never been happy with mine, far too harsh and bumpy they feel very agricultural and I went for the softest load option. TB.

Not planning on using them again.

My front shocks (I did IronMan complete - shocks front & rear, leafs & torsion bars) on my Nissan D22 practically collapsed after 30,000km/1year. This was in 2006. The only off/overlanding I did with it was a trip to Mabua and back. Rest of the milage was exlusively tar.
Got OME now.

I think that Ironmans R&D process involves just measuring the shock length & hoping for the best without any actual real world testing, on specific vehicles. It's why it's such a crap ride & so cheap.

I was actually very suspicious when they opened the Iron man box with the shocks in it.
It was an Ironman Box.
The shock was white and unmarked. The stickers were lying in the box.
I couldnt find any writing on the shock to identify them as IronMan
I just took the word of the supplier...not mentioning names.

I dont know if this is common with all shocks,
But i wasnt impressed with them coming from Procomp.

Got my stickers stapeled on the invoice! What-his-name said they fall off anyway...wasn't impressed either. This was at Safari Centre in Bryanston. If my memory serves my correct, the owner left SC to sell IronMan accesories full-time?
